Ghanaian singer Moliy has made history as the first Ghanaian artist to win an award at the Caribbean Music Awards, taking home Dancehall Song of the Year at the 2026 ceremony.

She won the award for “Shake It to the Max (Fly) Remix”, her collaboration with Jamaican artistes Shenseea and Skillibeng. The recognition marks a significant milestone for Moliy, whose music continues to connect Ghanaian and Caribbean sounds.

Since the Caribbean Music Awards were inaugurated in 2023, Ghanaian artistes have received four nominations at the ceremony, with Moliy accounting for three of them and Stonebwoy receiving one.
Moliy’s victory therefore gives Ghana its first win at the awards, adding to the growing international recognition of Ghanaian artistes and their collaborations with musicians from the Caribbean.
