Ghanaian-Norwegian artist Akuvi has unveiled her latest project, Afrobeats for Emotional Gangsters (AFEG), a seven-track EP that places emotional honesty at the centre of its storytelling. The release explores themes of heartbreak, vulnerability, loneliness and healing while drawing from Afrobeats, R&B and contemporary African influences.

Among the songs featured on the project are Strangers, Let Me Know, No Words, Poison and Diamonds, with each track offering a different perspective on love, relationships and personal growth. The EP examines the emotional highs and lows that often accompany modern dating experiences.

Akuvi is joined by fellow Ghanaian artist Mellissa on Whoa, one of two collaborations featured on the project. The song sits alongside the broader narrative of self-reflection and emotional discovery that runs throughout the EP.

The project concludes with Dream Big, featuring Stonebwoy. The collaboration closes the record on an uplifting note, bringing together two artists from Ghana's music scene on a track centred on ambition and perseverance.

The release comes as Akuvi continues to carve out a space for herself among a new generation of African artists. With performances that have taken her to international stages, including a headline show in Oslo and an appearance at the Forbes Leading Women Summit, Afrobeats for Emotional Gangsters adds another milestone to her growing catalogue.
