Ghanaian singer and songwriter Josh Blakk has announced a new EP, Highlife Sunday Service (Live), set for release on 1 May 2026. The project will be available across major streaming platforms and arrives alongside his nomination for Best Male Vocal Performance at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The four-track EP is recorded entirely live, capturing the raw energy and traditional essence of Highlife music. Songs including Runaway, OMW2 Africa, Edey Jorm and Magic In Me explore themes ranging from love and identity to homecoming and self-belief, all delivered through a blend of English and local Ghanaian languages.

Speaking on the project, Josh Blakk described it as “a gathering” rather than just a musical release, emphasising its live, unfiltered nature. The EP builds on momentum from his 2025 album Catch-22, as well as a European tour that included performances in Germany and the Netherlands, and an appearance at the Reeperbahn Festival.

Known for pioneering the “High Soul” sound, a fusion of Highlife and Soul music, Josh Blakk continues to draw comparisons with legends such as Ebo Taylor and Pat Thomas. Highlife Sunday Service (Live) is expected to reinforce his place in Ghana’s evolving music scene when it is released next month.
