Sarkodie Recalls Starting Debut Indigo O2 Show Despite Low Early Turnout
Multiple Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has spoken about the debate around artistes delaying performances due to low early audience turnout, saying he has personally experienced similar situations.
The award-winning rapper recalled his debut performance at London’s Indigo at The O2, where he said he arrived to find a far smaller early crowd than expected for a show that was officially sold out.
“My people insisted we wait a bit,” he wrote on X, but added that he chose to go ahead regardless, saying: “Even if it’s 30 people I wanna go and I did.”
Sarkodie also noted that international venues operate on strict schedules, warning that “your lights goes off in the middle of your show when time is up,” and stressed the importance of starting on time for fans already in attendance.
